Oh god, I hate wigs. I have no idea what I’m doing. Someone that knows wigs better than me, does this look right??

I’m starting on a new costume for Dragon*Con! Well, ok, Lydia’s been mostly done for about 4 years now, but I need to style a new wig. The one I used before was just a cheap halloween store wig and the best I could do at the time.
Only problem I have is that I really don’t have much experience with wig styling, especially with complex styles. I’m using a Jeannie from Arda wigs since it’s made to be in a ponytail and has bangs. I’m going to take apart the included claw clip ponytail for the wefts. I also have Katie Bair’s giant book of wig styling, but there are just enough options that I’m stumped. I know I’ll need to do a super structure underneath, but from there I don’t know whether to do some kind of “double cone anchor”, a “rod anchor” or even use a foamcore. I also bought some styrofoam cones just in case I need to do the latter.
Is there anyone out there that has some experience with this kind of stuff?! If you do I’d be really grateful if you sent me a message!
