I think I may have a temporary solution to my Chell footwear for Fanime! While not my ideal situation, I’m considering making foam boot covers for my United Nude Eamz ankle booties. Since they were a lucky find, and expensive to replace, I don’t want to harm them at all. I’ll just use craft foam molded to my leg and find some way to attach them underneath. Then, I’ll slap some metal wreath hangers on the back and attach the bottom part under the heel.

Fourth time is indeed the charm!! This tank top is EXACTLY what I wanted in the first place! I’ve always figured that if Chell has to run around doing tests in a heavy jumpsuit it would make sense for her to wear an athletic tank top with a built in bra and wicking fabric. I found this one from Adidas second hand on eBay. I won it for $11!

Oh yeah, I guess since Fanime is now 4 weeks away I should maybe post my cosplay plans! I don’t know what particular days I’ll be wearing each one. I know there’s a Valve gathering and a Bioshock gathering I’ll be busting my hump to make it to. I may even try and make the Adventure Time or Cartoon Network gatherings too, depending on what else I feel like packing.

Here’s my more or less official costume list!

Chell - Portal (not sure 1 or 2 yet. Depends on the @#$^* footwear)

Veronica Madaraki - Franken Fran (my friend Diana is finishing this for me!)

Louise Belcher - Bob’s Burgers

Little Sister - Bioshock 2

I did it! I survived Fanime (barely). I got some great pictures of my Little Sister costume and tons of compliments! I actually took four costumes and only wore two. Even then I only wore Marceline for a few hours so it was really Little Sister con. I was so tickled to find so many splicers, another little sister and my friend as Eleanor - and to evade rovers with my prop!! There was one little sister and a splicer that I was never able to catch up with, but maybe another time. It was lovely meeting a couple of my followers too!
This year was also my first bout of exhaustion! Fun times, no not really. Nothing quite like getting sick in a hotel lobby and then having to go lie down all done up in body paint. Apparently I’m getting too old for this running around not eating thing. Hopefully I can find some more pictures, especially of Marceline!

Regardless of whether I can bring it or not it’s done! Well, except for the nipple, but minor detail!

EDIT: maybe I should post more nifty details? We followed Volpin’s tutorial as best as we could. It DOES light up! The body and bottle base were painted gold and the other details with a bronze(?) and then rubbed with watered down black acrylic paint. I slathered it on in small areas and immediately wiped it off with a paper towel. The ADAM is karo syrup with lots of red food coloring.

Sneak peek! My dress is all done! I used a cheese grater on the hems and spots like the sleeves and collar. I made yellow stains with tea. The hem was dipped quickly in dark brown RIT dye and scrunched with dye covered gloves. The green and faint blood spatters are watered down acrylic paint.

Now to figure out the wig and makeup. Man, I hate styling wigs.
